Their conclusions reveal that intelligence is the product of heredity and the environment (Mangal, 1998). This is shown in various empirical investigations. This essay will therefore, discuss the research supporting the influence of both genetic and environmental contributions to intelligence.

About the author Mr John Kombe has served in various capacities in: Church organisations , Non-Governmental organizations (NGOs), Primary and Secondary schools and is currently working at a Nurse training institution. He is a graduate of Kaniki Bible college (Dip.theo), University of Zambia (Diploma in Education), University of Africa (BBA) and is currently pursuing a Master of Education, Educational Leadership and Administration, with the University of Nicosia, Cyprus. Mr John Kombe is married to Lumbiwe and together they have a wonderful family of four boys and one girl.
