Claire C. Gordonreceived her Ph.D. in bioanthropology from Northwestern University in 1982 and an M.S. degree in biostatistics from the Harvard University School of Public Health in 1990. Although initially trained in prehistoric human biology and mortuary archaeology, Gordon's interests shifted to contemporary populations when she came to Natick in 1983. During 1984-88, she planned and led a major anthropometric survey of the U.S. Army that included more than 132 body dimensions on 8,997 soldiers. Her research interests include gender and racial variation in morphometry, secular trends, statistical sizing methodology, and statistical simulation of human engineering and military logistics problems.
